Survey the reachable surface
Mark entry steps, tanning shelves, ladders, overhangs, an attached spa and narrow connections on a simple overhead sketch. Add the places where debris gathers. Photograph the difficult areas at the normal operating water level.
Measure every shallow area the robot could enter. Deep-end depth and a label such as kidney-shaped do not describe the clearance around a shelf or overhang.
Use the limit for the exact model
Betta’s FAQ lists minimum depths of 5 inches for SE, 3.5 inches for SE Plus and 6 inches for Flex. The WYBOT F1 manual lists 70 mm, about 2.8 inches. The comparison table keeps these and the other documented pool-shape restrictions separate.
Write the applicable requirement beside each shallow area. Meeting a depth figure does not establish turning clearance or complete shelf coverage. For an unsuitable or uncertain area, ask the manufacturer about the permitted setup instead of assuming obstacle sensing will keep the robot out.
Adjust only as that model instructs
Some Betta manuals describe adjustable anti-stranding bars. Use the diagram for your version and note the original arrangement before making an approved adjustment. A position used on another owner’s machine may not apply.
Do not add weights, cut parts or relocate sensors to compensate for poor fit. Send support the location’s measurements and a clear photograph if the documented arrangement does not resolve the problem.
Evaluate repeated trouble spots
During the first runs, observe from a stable location as the robot encounters the pool’s different features. Note the approach direction, whether it gets stuck repeatedly and whether it leaves without intervention. A short video can make a clearance question easier for support to assess.
If it repeatedly jams at one feature, pause and compare that location with the manual instead of returning it to the same obstruction. If behavior changes throughout the pool, investigate the broader troubleshooting possibilities as well. Before the return period ends, decide whether the important collection areas are reachable using the manufacturer’s permitted setup, and retain your observations and packaging until then.

Does a large pool necessarily need a different skimmer?
