Betta Flex: Neo Comparison, Eco Mode and 6-Inch Limit
Betta Flex is the solar-only, non-app choice with Normal and Eco modes and explicit infinity-, above-ground- and in-ground positioning. Neo adds adapter charging, gateway-backed app functions and schedules, but its current minimum depth is unpublished. Choose between those documented differences rather than treating one as a blanket upgrade.

Choose Flex only when solar-only operation fits
The Flex manual explicitly says it has no AC, DC or USB charging port. Its streamlined body, infinity-pool category and Eco mode do not change that dependency. Observe direct sun on the water during the season when debris is worst, not only on a bright summer afternoon.
Neo is the direct alternative when an approved adapter, app schedule or weather-adaptive mode solves a real problem. Flex is the simpler choice only when its 6-inch water requirement and solar-only routine already fit the pool.
Eco pauses are expected behavior
The manual says Eco enters a pause after every four hours of operation, with the pause duration adjusted according to battery level. Breathing green or red lights identify an Eco pause, while flashing lights indicate running behavior. A planned pause should not be diagnosed as a failed motor.
Normal mode is intended for good sunshine. Neither mode guarantees an uninterrupted night or cloudy-week routine, and neither adds external charging. Match the mode to the timing of the debris rather than assuming Eco means more cleaning.
The six-inch floor still governs infinity-pool use
Betta's current comparison lists Flex for infinity, above-ground and in-ground pools, and the FAQ publishes a 6-inch minimum operating depth. A low-profile body does not lower that number. Measure the reachable shelf or transition, not only the main basin.
For an infinity installation, ask about the exact spillway, edge flow and catch-basin relationship. A broad pool-category statement does not establish that every overflow geometry is suitable or that the robot cannot leave the intended section.
Resolve the remote contradiction at the package
The current product comparison marks Flex as having no remote control, while the online manual calls an optional remote included. The same manufacturer cannot support both package descriptions without clarification. Do not buy Flex for a handheld-control requirement until the seller or Betta identifies what the exact package contains.
There is no comparable app conflict: the current product comparison identifies app control only for Neo. A Flex listing should not be treated as app-enabled because another Betta uses the family app.
The simultaneous-cleaner instructions also conflict
Flex's safety section says not to use it while another pool-cleaning device is in the pool. Later on the same manual page, the anti-tangle section describes operating with a wired underwater cleaner and suggests a protective bar or hose weights. Those passages are not reconciled by the document.
Follow the exact manual supplied with the unit and obtain written Flex-specific guidance before simultaneous operation. The manual separately lists saltwater up to 5,000 ppm and one-year coverage, with seawater excluded.

No. Its manufacturer documentation describes solar-only charging.
Is a remote included with Flex?

Does Flex work in less water than Neo?

Can Flex and a floor cleaner run together?
