Solar Pool Skimmer Models & Buying Details

Betta Flex: Eco Mode, Solar Charging and Infinity-Pool Fit

Betta Flex is a solar-only alternative positioned around a low-profile body and a choice of cleaning modes. It deserves a look when pool layout matters more than phone features. This guide separates the manufacturer's stated capabilities from questions that still need checking for your exact installation.

Documented features

Betta lists Normal and Eco operation, a soft-touch casing, shallow-water safeguards and suitability for infinity, above-ground and in-ground pools. Its comparison table does not list app or remote control for Flex. Charging is solar-only. The Flex manual says Eco operation pauses after four hours, with pause length depending on the battery level.

Betta’s general FAQ lists a 6-inch minimum water depth for Flex. Use that conservative published limit and confirm the exact model: some retail descriptions differ, and an anti-stranding feature does not override the minimum.

What Eco mode means for a buyer

A pause can be part of the intended operating pattern rather than a malfunction. Before choosing a skimmer, consider whether intermittent collection would suit your pool. If leaves accumulate rapidly at a particular time, plan to observe how the chosen mode fits that pattern during the return period rather than expecting a feature label to answer the question.

A solar-only decision also deserves a seasonal sunlight check. Walk around the yard when the pool is usually shaded, not just at midday. If you require an adapter as a fallback, compare SE Plus or Neo instead. Do not purchase Flex expecting an external charging capability to be added later.

Infinity edges and documentation details

Infinity-pool positioning is a reason to investigate Flex, not a substitute for checking your edge and water-flow arrangement. Ask the manufacturer about your exact setup, especially unusual spillways, attached sections or shallow structures.

The manual lists saltwater up to 5,000 ppm and one-year coverage, excluding seawater. Some text on its online manual page refers to a remote even though the product comparison excludes one. The same page contains conflicting statements about simultaneous floor robots. Confirm the supplied manual and obtain clarification before relying on either capability.

How to make the final choice

Use a short priority list: pool layout, charging alternatives, control preferences and maintenance access. Flex is most relevant when its physical design and modes address the first item without creating problems elsewhere. A specification-based shortlist cannot establish whether it will handle every corner of your pool. Keep that uncertainty visible while checking retailer return terms.

Common questions

Can Flex charge from a wall adapter?

No. Its manufacturer documentation describes solar-only charging.

Is a remote included with Flex?

Do not assume so. The product comparison excludes remote control, while parts of the online manual conflict. Verify the exact package and current supplied instructions.
