Solar Pool Skimmer Models & Buying Details
WYBOT F1: Solar Skimmer Modes, Basket and Charger Guide
The WYBOT F1 is a distinct surface skimmer in a brand lineup that also contains floor-cleaning robots. Its buying case centers on basket capacity, app controls and a choice of cleaning modes. This guide interprets manufacturer documentation; we have not tested it in a pool.

Check current price ↗Documented features and their practical meaning
WYBOT specifies a 33W solar panel, 7-liter basket, app steering, battery monitoring and obstacle-avoidance features. Its published Smart mode alternates ten minutes of work with ten minutes of rest; Standard mode is advertised as eight continuous hours. These are manufacturer descriptions, not measurements taken by this site.
When comparing runtime, make sure the competing figures describe the same kind of operation. Elapsed availability with planned rests and continuous active cleaning answer different questions. Pick the mode around your debris problem rather than treating the biggest hour figure as the best outcome.
The optional charger changes the comparison
WYBOT’s product FAQ says the DC charger is sold separately. It also says solar charging requires the unit to be in water. Check the package you intend to buy and follow the supplied instructions rather than borrowing a dry-land charging routine from another skimmer.
If you need backup charging, include the approved adapter in the full purchase price. Work out a practical retrieval and charging location before ordering. For a sunny pool, you may place more weight on basket access and debris collection than on the optional accessory.
Match a large basket to your actual debris
Inspect how you would lift and empty a wet basket. More storage is useful only if the collection and emptying routine is manageable for you. During leaf season, check frequently at first and use the observed load to set an emptying routine.
WYBOT explicitly distinguishes debris collection from water-quality management and ultra-fine filtration. Keep circulation and other pool care in your plan. The F1 manual specifies a 180-micron filter; that is not a guarantee that every pollen grain or cloudy-water particle is retained.
Pool fit and model distinctions
The F1 manual lists a minimum depth of 70mm, approximately 2.8 inches, and a maximum salt concentration of 5,000 ppm. Measure shelves and narrow passages before purchase. A suitable water depth still does not guarantee unobstructed travel around every ladder or connecting channel.
F1 is the skimmer. Other WYBOT names may refer to floor-and-wall robots, and bundles can combine separate devices. When comparing offers, identify exactly which machines and chargers are included. Choose a bundle only if both jobs are relevant to your pool.
Common questions
Does WYBOT F1 include a DC charger?
The manufacturer product FAQ says the DC charger is sold separately. Verify the exact bundle before purchase.
Why does WYBOT F1 pause in Smart mode?
WYBOT describes Smart mode as alternating ten-minute working and resting periods. A planned pause is different from a failure to restart.
Does WYBOT F1 replace pool filtration?
No. The manufacturer describes it as a debris cleaner and says to retain circulation, filtration and appropriate water treatment.
Is the Wybot F1 skimmer a good pool skimmer?
WYBOT F1 is worth comparing if app control and a larger basket fit your needs. Check the optional charger, pool-clearance limits and cleaning modes in our model guide. We have not hands-on tested it or established it as a universal winner.
