Use the table as an elimination screen, not as a chemistry target or a performance ranking. An unknown limit does not prove incompatibility, but it cannot pass a required numerical check.

Measure first, then compare the exact ceiling

Record the pool's salinity and reading date using your existing pool-care process. If readings conflict, have your pool professional resolve them before comparing equipment limits. A remembered setting, salt-system setting or phrase such as lightly salted is not a numerical measurement.

Compare that reading with the exact model and revision. The Betta family, WYBOT F1 and both Beatbot iSkim models use documented 5,000 ppm ceilings; the current Maytronics manual associated with Dolphin Skimmi lists 6,000 ppm NaCl. These are manufacturer equipment limits, not instructions to raise or lower the pool's salinity.

Treat unknown and conflicting limits as stop conditions

Aiper describes Surfer S1 for saltwater pools and AIRROBO broadly describes its solar SP200 as saltwater suitable, but the reviewed evidence does not establish a numerical ceiling for either family. Polaris Skimbot and the exact retained VIDAPOOL, Curalk and BOTLUXE offers also lack a verified numerical limit. Unknown does not mean proven incompatible; it means the evidence cannot support an automatic pass.

Pleco SK01 has a direct conflict: its model manual gives 6,500 ppm while Talosbo's general help material says 5,000 ppm. Use 5,000 ppm as the conservative screening boundary and obtain written confirmation for the purchased revision before operating above it. Keep the model label, matching manual and answer together rather than borrowing a number from a similar-looking robot.

Use only model-specific salt-deposit and corrosion care

Aiper's S2 propeller troubleshooting names salt deposits or wrapped debris as possible restrictions. Shut the S2 down before inspecting owner-accessible parts and use the documented fresh-water rinse. Aiper separately calls for a gentle garden-hose rinse for the S2 basket and prohibits pressure washing. Those instructions do not create a universal rinse schedule for every brand.

For another model, follow its own instructions for the basket, solar panel, sensors, charging port and storage. Do not scrape a panel, pressure-wash a component, apply a coating, improvise a chemical treatment or open a sealed housing merely because residue is visible. Keep charging contacts or ports dry where the exact manual requires it, and use the routine cleaning guide for basket and panel care.

Apply the other operating limits separately

Passing the salt limit does not establish shallow-water clearance, charging fit, simultaneous-cleaner permission or swimming safety. Beatbot's separate 4 ppm chlorine ceiling, the Maytronics manual's 41–104°F water range and each model's depth and operating restrictions remain independent checks.

Choose only when the maintained pool condition is within the exact documented ceiling and the same model also passes those other gates. If the numerical ceiling is missing or disputed, obtain written model-specific confirmation instead of treating saltwater compatible as unlimited approval.
