Betta's current comparison lists solar plus adapter charging for both models. Neo's modes are Auto, Smart Weather-Adaptive and Scheduled, with direction control through the app. SE Plus lists Auto and a handheld remote. Backup power alone therefore does not justify choosing Neo.
Neo is relevant when a schedule or connected control changes the ownership routine. SE Plus is relevant when occasional poolside steering is enough. Neither control choice removes basket emptying, physical retrieval or inspection around steps and openings.
Check the gateway location before choosing Neo
Neo's product page advertises an included gateway and range up to 600 feet. Treat that as a manufacturer maximum rather than a measured promise for a house with walls, landscaping and a particular network. The manual says the gateway, adapter and anti-stuck foam noodle are packed inside the basket.

For stools, a tanning ledge or a narrow opening, measure the accessible depth and obtain a Neo-specific written limit before purchase. An app can change commands, but it cannot make the robot fit a gap that is too small.

For Neo, verify the gateway and correct adapter. For SE Plus, verify the handheld remote, adapter and whether the offer adds the optional storage bag. Product photographs and a similar Betta name are not enough to identify the package.
