Decide how dependent you can be on sunlight
The SE Plus offers adapter charging alongside solar charging. That gives an owner another route to recharge during extended poor solar conditions. It does not make low sunlight irrelevant: using the adapter adds a retrieval and charging task that must fit your routine.
If your pool receives reliable direct sun and the solar-only model meets its operating requirements, the backup method may receive little use. Treat shallow-water fit as a measurement

Anti-stranding hardware is a separate part of that assessment. It can help prevent a unit entering a trap, but does not guarantee complete cleaning across shallow shelves. Follow the adjustment instructions for the model and avoid assuming another generation's hardware works identically.
Avoid paying for benefits you have not established
A 'Plus' name does not prove faster debris collection or lower maintenance in your pool. Betta frames its model differences around features and convenience. If a listing suggests a stronger performance conclusion, look for a defined manufacturer test before treating it as a fact.
Make a short checklist: adequate charging, compatible shallow areas, accessible basket, manageable retrieval and suitable controls. Put a mark beside a feature only when it addresses something on that list. This makes a current price difference easier to assess without inventing a universal value winner.

Read the exact listing for model name, accessories and seller terms. The SE Plus manual documents remote-control operation and pairing, so make sure the intended package and supplied instructions match. Keep the manual with your ownership records instead of relying on a retailer's abbreviated feature bullets.
Also locate the manufacturer service route before purchase. Charging trouble should not lead immediately to opening a sealed machine; Betta says its battery is not user-replaceable. For either model, straightforward basket and panel care remains part of ownership rather than an optional extra.
