Aiper Surfer Schedule Not Starting: Check Mode and Connection

When a Surfer misses a scheduled clean, preserve the schedule and device state before resetting anything. The useful question is whether the instruction was saved, whether the robot was available to carry it out, and whether its current operating conditions permitted cleaning. This guide is for Surfer scheduling; it does not substitute instructions from Aiper’s Scuba range.

Check the actual device and saved instruction

Open the correct robot in the Aiper app, especially if the household owns more than one Aiper product. Screenshot the schedule, selected days, enabled state, and any message attached to it. Confirm that the times shown are the times you intended and that the change remains visible after leaving and reopening that screen.

For a household handoff, write down who last changed the setting. A schedule that was deliberately disabled before swimming can look like an unexplained failure to the next person using the app.

Observe the state at the intended start

Aiper’s S2 schedule guidance tells owners to check that the device is in the pool and online when the schedule should begin. Follow the exact model’s instructions and safety requirements for that observation. Record the displayed battery level, online state, mode, and any fault notification at the start time.

Observe from the deck with the pool clear of swimmers. A missed start with an offline device gives support different evidence from a missed start while the app reports it ready. A screenshot taken hours afterward may not reveal the state at the relevant moment.

Separate connection failure from scheduling failure

If you cannot communicate with the robot at all, use the setup-and-Wi-Fi guide first. A schedule cannot be evaluated usefully while you are still unsure whether the app is showing a current device state. Note whether the connection is reliable near the normal operating area.

If manual control or a permitted immediate start works but the saved schedule does not, record that distinction. Keep the comparison within the modes your version actually offers instead of assuming every app screen shown online belongs to your unit.

Handle software changes deliberately

Record the app and firmware versions shown in device information, along with the date the issue began. If there is an official update prompt, read and follow its power and connection instructions. Check the saved schedule afterward rather than assuming settings carried through unchanged.

Menu names can change. Do not declare a unit faulty simply because it shows a different label from a screenshot. Ask Aiper which scheduling controls apply to the specific hardware and installed software when the instructions disagree.

Give support one reproducible example

Use a clear report: the intended day and time, selected schedule, online state at that time, battery indication, and actual behavior. Attach screenshots with passwords and unrelated personal information removed. Ask whether the evidence points to a setting, connectivity issue, or further assessment before deleting the device and starting over.

Check whether an update removed the schedule

Aiper’s S2 scheduling guidance notes that a firmware update may clear saved schedules. If a schedule has disappeared, re-enter it in the app and verify the intended mode and time. A present schedule that does not run needs a different check of operating conditions and connection; repeated recreation alone will not identify that cause.

Common questions

Should I factory-reset the robot first?

No. Preserve the settings and error information and follow the exact model’s documented troubleshooting first.

Why does my app use different mode names?

Software and model revisions can change controls. Confirm the instructions for the device and version actually shown in your app.
