Aiper Surfer Not Charging: Solar vs Adapter Checks
Aiper Surfer charging problems need two separate observations: whether energy enters the battery and whether the robot uses that energy normally afterward. Attach the correct baseline: the current S1 page states up to 20 hours while the retained 2024 S1 offer states 12; the current S2 page states 35 hours after adapter charging and a four-to-six-hour adapter charge. None of those maxima diagnoses a battery by itself.

If solar charging seems ineffective
Watch the light reaching the panel during the actual session. A robot beside a shaded wall may receive little direct light even on a sunny day. On S2, SolarSeeker is described as moving toward sunlight for a quick 15-minute charge before resuming; that interval is not a full-recharge specification. Note starting and ending indications and actual exposure.
Keep that observation separate from an approved adapter charge. If the adapter produces the expected indication but solar operation remains weak, report the difference along with shade and panel condition. It identifies which route needs attention without proving a failed solar panel or battery. Do not improvise an unattended charging test on a hot deck.
If the approved adapter produces no response
Match the robot and adapter labels to the supplied manual, including the exact Surfer version. Aiper publishes separate Surfer S1 solar and wall-charger troubleshooting. The current S2 page lists a DC charger in the package and a four-to-six-hour adapter charge. Scuba S1 is a different machine, and S1 instructions do not automatically apply to S2.
Inspect the accessible cable and connector for visible damage, then follow the matching manual’s charging preparation. Record the adapter indication and robot indication separately: “red light” is ambiguous without its location. If equipment is damaged or the model pairing is uncertain, stop and ask Aiper to confirm the next step. A matching plug is not evidence that another cleaner’s adapter is suitable.
If it charges, but stops early
Note what happens after the ordinary approved charge: no start, a brief run, repeated stops at one obstacle, or normal movement with poor collection. Include the selected mode and status indication. Compare the result with the claim tied to that exact unit; do not use S1's current 20-hour page against the 2024 12-hour offer or treat S2's adapter-qualified 35 hours as a solar-only promise.

Common questions
Can I use a Scuba S1 charging guide for Surfer S1?
No. Scuba S1 and Surfer S1 are different machines. Use the Surfer model’s charging equipment, preparation procedure and indicator chart.
Does short runtime mean I need a new battery?
Not by itself. Note whether the approved charge reaches its expected indication, then distinguish an early power stop from a pause, repeated stranding or poor collection. Aiper can use that sequence to assess a persistent fault.
